I am a political scientist who focuses on sociopolitical issues related to ethnicity, gender, elections, nationalism, and populism. In broad terms, I am interested in how social diversity influences individuals’ political attitudes and behaviour.
I am also a ‘specialist’ of Canadian/Quebec politics. Many of my studies investigate the Canadian/Quebec political context. I have as well been a regular contributor in the news media to analyse political developments in Canada.
While my research has concentrated on Western European and Anglo-American cases, I am in fact interested by sociopolitical phenomena throughout the world.
I was previously a Research Fellow at the Politics of Race and Ethnicity Lab at the University of Texas at Austin, and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam.
To date, my work has, notably, been published in Comparative Political Studies, Ethnic and Racial Studies, and Electoral Studies.
